Who? What? Why? And Where?

While the old stereotype describes a person with an eating disorder as a young, white, middle class female, all of the disorders cross gender lines, as well as socioeconomic lines. No individual is safe from this disorder just because of what racial group they identify with. Nor is anyone excluded because of their age.
Some of our members are seeing individuals still in the lower elementary levels. While no research group has been able to pinpoint a source for the disorders, studies suggest that there are genetic and environmental factors that make a person susceptible to an eating disorder.
